Leonardo DiCaprio has officially joined Rolex as a brand ambassador, aligning his environmental advocacy with the luxury watchmaker’s diverse initiatives. This partnership was subtly introduced through a new Rolex commercial, where DiCaprio appears midway, portraying Jay Gatsby. He is now featured on Rolex’s website as a “Hollywood icon and climate champion.”
DiCaprio’s collaboration with Rolex is expected to extend beyond merely showcasing their timepieces. Rolex is known for its long-term partnerships that support various global projects across disciplines, including conservation, sports, music, and cinema. Given DiCaprio’s dedication to environmental causes—evidenced by his establishment of The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998—this partnership appears to be a natural fit.

Prior to this official association, DiCaprio was often seen wearing Rolex watches, such as the steel Zenith-powered Daytona ref. 16520 in the 1990s and the Daytona ref. 116509 “Racing” more recently. In 2016, he even auctioned a white gold Daytona during his foundation’s annual gala.
Interestingly, in 2023, DiCaprio invested in the eco-friendly watch brand ID Genève. While his new role with Rolex may influence his involvement with other watch brands, it underscores his commitment to sustainability in the watch industry.
This partnership not only enhances Rolex’s roster of influential ambassadors but also reinforces the brand’s commitment to supporting environmental and cultural initiatives worldwide.
